GNSS Receiver – Install Option Codes

Purpose

This guide explains how to install option codes (such as RTX) on a Trimble GNSS receiver using the receiver web interface.

Prerequisite: You must be connected to the receiver and logged into the web interface.
If you need help connecting, see “Connect to Receiver via Wi-Fi."


Step 1: Connect to the Receiver Wi‑Fi

  1. Open Wi‑Fi settings on your computer or tablet

  2. Connect to: Trimble GNSS (last 4 digits of the receiver serial number)


Step 2: Open the Receiver Web Interface

  1. Launch a web browser

  2. Navigate to: https://192.168.142.1


Step 3: Log In

Default login (if not previously configured):

  • Username: admin

  • Password: password

If you forgot the password, follow the Factory Reset guide before continuing.

On first login, you may be prompted to change the admin password. Complete this step to proceed.


Step 4: Install the Option Code

  1. Navigate to: Receiver Status → Receiver Options

  2. Locate the Option Code field at the bottom of the page

  3. Paste the 25‑character option code from the email you received

  4. Click Install Option


Step 5: Complete Installation

  • When prompted with: “To complete installation, reset the receiver after all options have been loaded” click OK

  • Do not take additional actions before confirming

After confirmation:

  • The Correction Services / Options section will update

  • The installed option (RTX, etc.) will appear in the list

  • Please note that when using RTX within Trimble fieldlink, you must create a project and points file in order to select the RTX option.
