GNSS Receiver – Connect Via Wi‑fi

Purpose

This guide explains how to connect to a GNSS receiver via Wi‑Fi and log into the receiver web interface.

Before You Start

  • Ensure the receiver is powered on

  • If recently reset, the receiver Wi‑Fi will be in Access Point mode

  • You have 5 login attempts within 10 minutes

    • Failed attempts lock the account for 10 minutes

Step 1: Connect to the Receiver Wi‑Fi

  1. On your computer or tablet, open Wi‑Fi settings

  2. Connect to the Wi‑Fi network matching the receiver serial number. (Example: Trimble GNSS 1234 )

    • Wi-Fi Password: abcdeabcde  -or- Receiver Serial Number (FW6.43 or later)

Forgot the password? If you are able to connect to the receiver Wi‑Fi but do not know the login password, follow the Factory Reset Procedure to reset the receiver to factory defaults before continuing.

Step 2: Open the Receiver Web Interface

  1. Open a web browser

  2. Navigate to:

  3. When prompted, enter login credentials (see below)

Login Credentials by Configuration

Receivers With Enhanced Security (IoT) Installed

(Firmware 5.44 or later)

On first login after setup or factory reset:

  1. Log in using:

    • Username: admin

    • Password: password  -or- User Specified

Forgot the password? If you are able to connect to the receiver Wi‑Fi but do not know the login password, follow the Factory Reset Procedure to reset the receiver to factory defaults before continuing.

  2. You will only see Security and Firmware menus

  3. The Initialize Security screen appears

  4. Create a new admin password

    • Must include upper/lowercase letters, numbers, and punctuation

    • Weak passwords will be rejected

  5. Click Update to save the new password

⚠️ This password cannot be cleared remotely. Physical access to the receiver is required if it is forgotten. There is no password recovery option. If the password is unknown, a full factory reset is required.

After First-Time Login

  • If Wi‑Fi is supported, you may be prompted to review Access Point settings

  • Security options can be adjusted under Security Configuration
