Trimble Fieldlink - Windows 11 Update FieldLink Wifi Impact for X7/X9

Update Details

Microsoft's upcoming Windows 11 update, version 24H2 (OS build 26100.1742 or later), includes a privacy feature that will prompt users to allow location access the first time they start FieldLink. If a user selects "no" to this prompt, they will no longer be able to connect to Wi-Fi devices within FieldLink. This prompt will not appear again on subsequent launches of FieldLink.
If users are unable to see any Wi-Fi devices after the update, they can follow these steps to enable Wi-Fi for FieldLink:
1. Shut down FieldLink.
2. In Windows, open Settings -> Privacy & security -> Location.
3. Enable the following options:
      - Location services
      - Let apps access your location
      - Let desktop apps access your location
4. Restart FieldLink.

Microsoft now requires user permission to access the WiFi API that FieldLink uses. Without this permission, FieldLink will not be able to access Wi-Fi devices.
