Scans Will Not Be Imported Because No Scan Project Is Active
Issue
When attempting to collect a scan using the Trimble X7 or X9, the following warning appears on the tablet:
⚠️ Scans will not be imported because no scan project is active. The scans can be found on the SD card in folder "undefined".
This message appears when you attempt to scan and nothing happens.
Why This Happens
This issue typically occurs when:

The current FieldLink project is not set up as a scan project, or
-
The scan functionality within the project was disabled, either accidentally or due to a software update/reset.
When this happens, FieldLink is unable to correctly associate the scan data with the project you're working in. As a result, it saves the scans directly to the SD card in a generic folder ("undefined"), bypassing FieldLink’s project structure.
How to Fix It
Follow these steps to enable the scan project and prevent the issue:
Step 1: Enable the Scan Project

On the tablet, tap the More menu.

Go to Projects > Manage.

Find and select the current project you're working in.
Tap Edit.

Verify that you have a scan job, if not simply create one by tapping the Create button.

Make sure it is turned ON, you can verify it's turned on if it's orange.

Save and return to the main screen and begin scanning.
